Use Raffi for genuine student support. Do not rely on it as the final authority, do not submit sensitive personal information, and check important matters with SRMC staff or official documents. The full terms below govern your use.
1. About Raffi
Raffi is an AI-assisted information service operated by coai for Singapore Raffles Music College Pte. Ltd. (“SRMC”). It helps students find information from SRMC’s approved knowledge library through Microsoft Teams.
In these Terms, “coai”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean the operator of Raffi; “you” means the student or authorised user accessing Raffi.
2. Agreement and access
By accessing or using Raffi, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the Raffi Privacy Notice. If you do not agree, do not use Raffi.
- You may use Raffi only through an account and environment authorised by SRMC.
- You must follow SRMC’s student handbook, acceptable-use rules, disciplinary rules and instructions from authorised staff.
- You must not allow another person to use your account or pretend to be another person.
- If you do not have legal capacity to agree to these Terms, you may use Raffi only where your parent or guardian and SRMC have authorised that use as required by law.
If these Terms conflict with a mandatory law, the mandatory law prevails. SRMC’s policies continue to govern your relationship with SRMC.
3. What Raffi can and cannot do
Raffi is designed to provide convenient, general information from approved SRMC materials. It does not replace SRMC staff, official notices, the student contract, academic regulations, professional advice or emergency services.
Always verify important information. For enrolment status, fees, visas, attendance, assessments, results, appeals, deadlines, disciplinary matters, health or safety, or any decision that could affect your academic or financial position, check the official document and contact the relevant SRMC staff member.
Raffi may generate an answer using automated systems. An answer can be inaccurate, incomplete, ambiguous or out of date even when it includes a source. A source link is provided for convenience and does not mean the generated answer perfectly reflects that source.
Raffi does not make academic, admissions, disciplinary, financial, immigration, health, legal or other consequential decisions about students. It may decline a request or direct you to a staff member where human review is more appropriate.
4. Acceptable use
You may use Raffi only for lawful, genuine education and student-support purposes. You must not:
- use Raffi to cheat, plagiarise, misrepresent authorship or breach academic-integrity requirements;
- submit content that is unlawful, threatening, abusive, discriminatory, defamatory, sexually explicit, infringing, malicious or intended to harm another person;
- enter passwords, payment-card details, medical records, national identification numbers, passport details, private contact details or other sensitive information;
- submit another person’s personal data without authority or ask Raffi to expose confidential information;
- probe, bypass or interfere with access controls, safety controls, rate limits, monitoring, prompts, systems or networks;
- upload malware, automate excessive requests, scrape the service, reverse engineer it or use it to develop or test a competing model or service without written permission;
- present Raffi’s output as an official SRMC decision, guarantee or statement; or
- use Raffi in a way that infringes another person’s rights or exposes coai, SRMC or any service provider to legal or security risk.
We or SRMC may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect students, investigate suspected misuse, comply with law, maintain security or enforce these Terms or SRMC policy.
5. Privacy
Our handling of information is described in the Raffi Privacy Notice. In particular, Raffi is not a place to submit sensitive or unnecessary personal data. Automated redaction reduces risk but cannot identify every name, address or identifier.
SRMC is responsible for the purposes for which student personal data is processed. coai processes that data for SRMC in operating Raffi. Requests concerning your student record, access, correction or withdrawal of consent should normally be directed to SRMC’s Data Protection Officer.
6. Content and rights
Your messages
You remain responsible for the messages and feedback you submit. You confirm that you have the right to submit them. You authorise SRMC and coai to process that content only as reasonably needed to provide, secure, support and improve Raffi for SRMC, as described in the Privacy Notice.
Raffi, SRMC material and outputs
Raffi’s software, interface and related materials are owned by coai or its licensors. SRMC owns or licenses its policies, documents and other knowledge-library content. These Terms do not transfer those rights to you.
Subject to SRMC policy and third-party rights, you may use Raffi’s answers for your own non-commercial study and student-support purposes. Generated answers may not be unique and may resemble answers supplied to others. You must review any answer before relying on, sharing or submitting it.
7. Availability and changes
Raffi may be unavailable, delayed or changed because of maintenance, security, service limits, third-party systems or events outside our reasonable control. We may add, remove or change features and may stop providing Raffi. Where practical, SRMC will communicate material student-facing changes through its usual channels.
We may update these Terms. The effective date above shows the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated through Raffi, this page or an appropriate SRMC channel. Continued use after the change takes effect constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.
8. Third-party services
Raffi operates through services supplied by third parties, including Microsoft Teams and cloud infrastructure. Those services may have their own terms and privacy arrangements. We are not responsible for a third-party service outside the parts we manage for Raffi, but this does not reduce any responsibility we have under applicable law for our selection or use of service providers.
9. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Raffi is provided on an “as available” basis. We do not promise that Raffi will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure against every threat, suitable for every purpose, or that any answer will be accurate, complete or current.
No output is professional, legal, medical, financial, immigration or counselling advice. Nothing in these Terms excludes an express commitment in a written agreement between coai and SRMC or a right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, coai will not be liable to you for indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential loss, loss of opportunity, loss of data, loss arising from a decision made without the verification required by section 3, or loss caused by your breach of these Terms.
For any claim relating to your individual use of the free student service, coai’s aggregate liability to you will not exceed S$100.
This section does not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, wilful misconduct, breach of a duty that cannot lawfully be limited, or any other liability that Singapore law does not permit us to exclude or limit. Any exclusion, limitation or notice in these Terms applies only to the extent that it is fair and reasonable under applicable law.
11. Misuse and indemnity
You are responsible for loss you directly cause through your unlawful or deliberate misuse of Raffi.
To the extent permitted by law, you will indemnify coai, SRMC and their officers, employees and contractors against third-party claims, regulatory costs, reasonable legal fees and direct losses arising from:
- your wilful misconduct, fraud or unlawful use of Raffi;
- content you knowingly submit without the necessary rights or authority; or
- your material breach of section 4 that causes a security incident, infringement or claim by another person.
This indemnity does not apply to the extent a loss was caused by the negligence, unlawful act, breach of contract or wilful misconduct of the person seeking indemnity. It does not make you responsible merely because you relied reasonably on Raffi for its intended purpose.
12. General terms
- Governing law. These Terms are governed by Singapore law.
